The following section is a crash course on how to pack assets.

We will focus on objects only.

PACKING BASICS (OBJECTS ONLY)

  1. Download Ryex's Go Packagerarrow-up-right and unzip it.

We won't use the built-in packing tool as it's a bit outdated and can be confusing.

  1. In your explorer, create a series of folders following precisely this structure: Pack Name\textures\objects\

  1. Place your assets inside the objects folder.

You can add subfolders if you want (no name restriction)

  1. Open GoPackager and drag and drop your root folder (Pack Name) into GoPackager, or look for the folder with the Open Folder button

  1. Click on YES to load your pack

  1. Click on Create a pack.json file if there isn't one

  1. Edit the fields you want and click on Save

  1. Choose a destination folder (where the pack will be exported)

  1. Click on Generate Thumbnails

  1. Click on Generate Tags , then Generate , then OK

If there are several folders inside the objects folder, the tags will be the names of the folders

  1. Enable Replace Existing Files

  1. Click on Package and then on OK when it's generated
